How It Works – Monel 400 Tube in a Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger
Basic function: Transfers heat between two fluids without mixing them.
Tube side fluid (corrosive, e.g., seawater, chemical solution) flows inside the Monel tube.
Shell side fluid (e.g., cooling water, steam, hydrocarbon) flows outside the tube bundle.
Monel 400 provides a corrosion-resistant barrier, preventing tube wall thinning, pitting, or cracking over years of service.
